Unveiled was a research project by the Authentic Artist Collective, devised and directed by Kath Burlinson with associate artist Juliette Jeancluade.
Unveiled explored the human body as a work of art. An international group of performers aged 20+ to 70+ examined the glory and agony of physical incarnation via the clothed, draped and nude male and female body. Themes included sacred eroticism, wounded love, sexual difference and the dynamics of desire. We worked across art forms including embodied movement, painting, projection, live music, soundscape and poetry.
Members of AAC participated in a series of labs to research the project. The Labs involved an international group of artists: English, French, Brazilian, Malaysian, Iraqi/Iranian, Mexican, American, Latvian, Slovakian, German, Australian, Scottish and Turkish.
The Unveiled research is feeding into a number of new AAC projects. Watch this space!
