Tender Age began as a research and development project, supported by Escalator, Arts Council England and the Theatre Royal, Bury St Edmunds. Tender Age brings together older people and young adults to explore creatively what divides and what connects these generations.

Following the success of the R&D, the Authentic Artist Collective received a commission from InTransit festival (funded by the London Borough of Kensington & Chelsea), to make a piece involving older, younger and learning disabled people. This version of Tender Age was performed in July 2012 at The Lighthouse, Ladbroke Grove, W11.
